Horse Riding – perfect sport for children and teenagers.

Speaking from personal experience, as someone who grew up around horses, I would like to share my story and my personal views on the topic. I believe, constant exposure to animals at a young age has in many ways shaped me into who I am today. I was 8 years old when my sister introduced me to this sport, and, in my opinion, it boosted the development of some qualities that children my age did not always understand. First of all, equestrian sport involves spending time and taking care of an animal, from a young age it teaches you responsibility in understanding that every reaction has the consequences in the form of the behavior of the horse, either its level of stress or its calmness, it teaches discipline in showing up every day to feed, walk or ride your horse, and of course concentration and attention, as it is crucial to staying safe when around 500 kg animals.

However, that is not all, horses as is widely known, are healing animals, one of the reasons why, especially for children, is the ability to build a genuine connection. A constant physical presence and the sensitivity of horses to human emotions are what creates that bond. Common struggles, constant challenges and a lot of time spent together only highlight and strengthen the importance of horses in one’s life. Most beautiful of all, horses that are treated well respond differently to children, by being more careful and soft around them, proving that the connection is never one-sided.
